So I would take that old guide and the 4.2.2 Java source, along with the Javadocs, and try to produce an updated v4 Guide and new release for making existing online search functionality work again.

All the client source zip (from the site) included, were the. I found someone (psych0d0g) who loaded the whole 4.2.2 kit, including the Java sources for the standard_service_pack.jar, into so I was able to pull it and get a look at at what Robert-Jan originally coded. I tried to e-mail Robert-Jan t ask for his final guidance/notes but his account is no longer working and there seems to be no other way to reach him. I couldn't maintain it for others but I figured there might be a bunch of us who could exchange enough info to keep us all running.

I love the software and its features and I really want to keep it working, even as-is, cause I have so much of my library now using it. I saw various questions in the forums for this but no specific helpful answers. Īt the least, I was hoping to fix the expired/failing IMDB and Amazon ones that Robert-Jan had used in the 4.2.2 release, by supplying my own. Other great apps like Data Crow are Simkl, GCstar, Memento and Tellico. The best alternative is calibre, which is both free and Open Source. I am not the strongest Java programmer but I get by, and I just cannot find the place wher these invalid keys are being stored. There are more than 25 alternatives to Data Crow for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Online / Web-based and Android. I know the product is unsupported now but I was hoping some of th existing users might still be doing work to keep the last version functional? Like I am trying to do ?ĭoes anyone know how the online search stuff is coded? The Dev guide is no longer around (even if it was for v3, it would have provided some guidance) and looking through the code, hasn't helped me to find where the API keys, URLs or calls are made for online services.
